About the Role
Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans, reports, and specifications for SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) facilities, transmission line right-of-way access, and various utility related projects.
Civil engineering for SOFC sites including siting, grading and drainage design, utility design, interior circulation layout, and exterior access design.
Civil engineering for transmission line permanent and temporary gravel road access to support construction and long-term operations and maintenance including development of plans and access road profiles, cross sections, stormwater management, and alternative/innovative solutions for challenging locations that require safe access.
Preparation and/or reviewing design criteria, drawings, and specifications.
Preparation and/or reviewing permitting, design, and construction documents. Evaluating hydrology and hydraulics for site drainage improvements.
Performing site grading and earthwork analysis.
Working with experienced personnel and Senior Engineers to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to their discipline Coordinating with other project disciplines including structural and electrical.
Technical and design report writing.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
California Civil Engineer PE license a must.
At least 5+ years of professional site/civil engineering or electrical utility experience.
AutoCAD Civil 3D and BIM 360 experience or related coursework.
Expertise in site planning and layout, utility coordination, and design for site substation projects, including foundations, grading, drainage design, permitting, specifications, and construction administration of civil site infrastructure components.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to think critically.
Must be eligible to work in the US.
